Test fide
From 1 January 2019, it has become mandatory to prove your language level when applying for immigration or naturalisation purposes. The Language Passport is the perfect way to get your language skills officially certified.
Bell Switzerland is an accredited examination centre for taking the test fide in French.

Next sessions of the test fide
The fide test takes place at Bell, Chemin Camille-Vidart 15 – 1202 Geneva.
The test days and times are as follows: during the week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and on weekends, on Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
You will receive your test confirmation no later than 2 weeks before your test date. It is not possible to book a specific time for your test.
Important: If you have not received your confirmation email for the fide test 10 days before the test date (please check your spam folder), you must contact us immediately by email at fide@bell-school.ch or by phone at +41 22 749 16 09.
Any cancellation or other request must be made by email (fide@bell-school.ch) to be considered.

- Registration and payment are available online.
- A confirmation of registration to the test fide will be sent automatically to each participant.

Cancellation Policy
- All cancellation requests must be sent by email to fide@bell-school.ch
- All cancellations must be made in writing to the school’s administration no later than the deadline for registration. The registration fee will be reimbursed with a deduction of CHF 20.00 for administrative costs.
- In case of cancellation received after this deadline and until the day before the first date of the test, the center will refund the registration fee but will retain the sum of CHF 88.00 corresponding to the late cancellation fee.
- In case of cancellation or absence on the day of the test, no refund will be made.

Who can take the test fide?
Anyone over the age of 16.
People with a disability can also take the test fide. Special rules apply to them, which are agreed upon with the examination institution and the Secretariat fide.
It is necessary to specify the nature of the handicap during registration, a field at the end of the form is provided for this purpose. -
What does the test fide cost?
The whole test costs CHF 250.–. Only the oral part costs CHF 170.–, only the written part CHF 120.–.

How long does the test fide take?
Speaking (Parler): 20 minutes
Listening (Comprendre): 20 minutes
Reading & Writing (Lire et écrire): introduction appr. 15 minutes, test 60 minutes

At what exact date and time will my test fide take place?
Speaking and Writing parts of the test are assessed separetly.
Speaking Part: Parler et Comprendre (40 minutes)
Writing Part: Lire et Ecrire (introduction appr. 15 minutes + test 60 minutes)The two parts of your test will take place on a single day, either on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM or on Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
You will receive by email an invitation with the exact day and time for your test no later than 2 weeks before the date of your test. It is not possible to reserve a specific day or time for your test. If you haven’t received an email within the specified timeframe, please contact us as soon as possible.

When will I receive the results / the language passport?
Your language passport, indicating your results, will be sent to you by the fide secretariat directly by post, approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the fide test. The Exam Center and fide Secretariat cannot provide any information about the results over the phone.
